EVENT NAME:  MIND, BODY, BALANCE:  A JOURNEY TO MENTAL WELLNESS

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Mindfulness and Wellness Workshop, hosted by the A10TION FOUNDATION and SPONSOR X is a comprehensive event aimed at promoting mental health awareness, mindfulness practice, and overall well-being.  With a target audience of 150 participants, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with individuals seeking to enhance their mental health and wellness. 

 

PURPOSE:  Provide valuable tools, resources and support to navigate the challenges of mental health, empowering individuals to prioritize self-care, build resilience, and foster a positive mindset. 

 

Event Date:  Tentative - Thursday, May 30 

Event Time:  6:00 - 8:30 PM

ITINERARY

Welcome and Introduction (10 minutes)

  • Introduction of the event host or moderator

  • Brief overview of the workshops’ objectives and agenda

  • Welcoming remarks to set the tone for the event [mental health exercise]

Guest Speaker Presentation (30 minutes)

  • Introduction of the guest speaker, highlighting their expertise in mental health and mindfulness 

  • Guest speaker presentation on the importance of mental health awareness and practical strategies for cultivating mindfulness and wellness.

  • Q&A session with the audience to engage participants and address any questions or concerns.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Breakout Session 1:  (20 minutes)

  • Participants divide into smaller groups for the first breakout session

  • Facilitated discussion or interactive activity focused on a specific aspect of mental health or mindfulness, led by trained facilitators

  • Participants are encouraged to share experiences, insights, and strategies for enhancing their well-being

 

Breakout Session 2: (20 minutes)

  • Participants rotate to a different breakout session for a new topic or activity 

  • Facilitated discussion or interactive exercise addressing another aspect of mental health or mindfulness

  • Opportunity for participants to learn new skills, practice techniques, and connect with others in a supportive environment

  • Summary of key takeaways from the workshop sessions

Approx. 1 in 4 people worldwide will experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives. 

 

Depression is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, affecting more than 264 million people.

 

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting over 40 million adults aged 18 and older. 

 

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among individuals aged 15-29 globally, with over 800,000 people dying by suicide each year. 

 

Estimated 76-85% people with mental disorders in low-middle income areas receive no treatment.
